Patrick Seche, MS

Patrick Seche is the Director of services in Addiction Psychiatry Division and an Associate Faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. This role includes overall management of clinical operations, administrative functions, fiscal management of 2 clinics, as well as oversight for 35 staff and faculty ranging from medical, supervisory, clinical, and support functions.

Patrick entered the field of addiction treatment in 1998 and has worked for a diverse group of organizations in different capacities. He was first an Alcoholism Counselor II with The Health Association’s MainQuest Treatment Center (closed in 2008) working on the inpatient rehab unit. In that role, Patrick provided direct clinical services and supervised and developed student interns. From there, he went to Baden Street Settlement in 2000 working in their Counseling Center. He assisted in the design, development and procurement of initial operating certificate of a Medically Supervised Outpatient Program, which was prior to that a Drug-Free clinic.

Patrick then went to the University of Rochester Medical Center/ Addiction Psychiatry Services in 2001, as a Senior Counselor and in 2003 became a Team Leader in the Methadone Maintenance program. In that role, he supervised 7 Counselors as well as the day-to-day clinical activities in the clinic. He also had oversight of the program’s admissions process. In 2005, Patrick became the Clinical Coordinator of Strong Recovery Chemical Dependency, which was the medically supervised outpatient clinic in Addiction Psychiatry. In that role, he managed the clinical operations, supervised the clinical and support staff along with some fiscal administrative responsibilities. At the beginning of 2008, Patrick was offered the opportunity to develop a plan to manage all Addiction Psychiatry Services. He developed a re-organization plan with a new leadership structure. The plan was approved by the Medical Center in June 2008 and at that time Patrick assumed his current management role of both Strong Recovery clinics in Addiction Psychiatry.
