Andrew D. Goodman, MD, is Professor of Neurology, Chief of the Neuroimmunology Unit, and Director of the Rochester Multiple Sclerosis Center at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. He earned his MD at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey; and completed his residency in neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and a fellowship in neuroimmunology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr Goodman has served as principal investigator and as a member of national and international steering committees of numerous clinical trials of new therapies for multiple sclerosis. He is presently a member of the International Advisory Committee on Clinical Trials in Multiple Sclerosis for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) / ECTRIMS.

Dr Goodman is currently a member of the clinical advisory board, long-term care committee, and clinical education committee of the NMSS. Dr Goodman was elected to membership in the American Neurological Association, fellow status in the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), and previously served as chair of the multiple sclerosis section of American Academy of Neurology. He has been named one of the Best Doctors in America since 1996, and was inducted into the Volunteer Hall of Fame of the NMSS in 2001.
