Catharine Farnan, MS is the clinical nurse specialist of the Comprehensive Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Catharine Farnan is also adjunct clinical neuro instructor at the College of Nursing, Thomas Jefferson University. Catharine is certified in the specialties of rehabilitation nursing, orthopedic nursing and brain injury. Her areas of special interest are women with disability, pregnancy with brain injury, and destination therapy after LVAD implantation. She received her master’s degree from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia and also has dual Bachelor degrees in Biology and Nursing.  Miss Farnan has presented her work internationally, and at over 20 national presentations and published 15 articles related to nursing as well as co-authored a chapter in textbook.
