Chief of Infectious Diseases

Dr. John Treanor, M.D. is Professor of Medicine, Microbiology, and Immunology and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Treanor serves as a Member of Advisory Board for Protein Sciences Corporation. He is a current or former member of the Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Research Advisory Committee (MIDRAC); Veteran's Administration Merit Review Board for Infectious Disease; and the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP). Dr. Treanor's current research interests are related to the clinical evaluation of vaccines and other control measures for human infectious diseases, including studies of novel vaccines for seasonal and pandemic influenza, evaluation of antiviral agents for influenza, and studies of the human immune response to influenza infection and vaccination.
