Julianne Wojciak is a genetic counselor by training.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Genetics from the University of Minnesota in 1997.  Julianne attended graduate school at the University of Colorado Health Science Center where she received her Masters of Science in Genetic Counseling in 2000.  In 2002, she obtained certification in genetic counseling from the American Board of Medical Genetics.  Julianne has counseled patients for prenatal, pediatric, and adult-onset genetic conditions.  She has a strong interest in cancer genetic counseling.  She has given numerous lectures to a variety of professional medical organizations as well as community groups on cancer genetics.  Julianne's current position is with the Familial Cancer Registry and Genetic Evaluation Program at the University of California, Los Angeles.  At UCLA, she counsels patients and families at risk for inherited cancer syndromes and is involved in recruitment and coordination of a variety of research studies related to hereditary cancer.  She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the American Society of Human Genetics.
