Kimberly Harmon, MD

Dr. Harmon is board certified in Family Practice and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. She attended the University of Notre Dame where she was a student athletic trainer and played basketball and went on to attend Indiana University School of Medicine.  She completed her residency at Memorial Family Practice Residency in South Bend, IN and a fellowship in sports medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. 

Dr. Harmon is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and is Head of the Sports Medicine Section.  She is a Past President of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (2009 – 2010) and currently serves on their Foundation Board.  She is also an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Sports Medicine, and serves as a consultant to the NCAA and the Department of Defense.   Her research interests include sudden cardiac death in athletes, the use of biologics such as platelet rich plasma in musculoskeletal medicine, concussion, and sickle cell trait in the athlete.  Dr. Harmon is the Head Football physician for the Washington Huskies and is on the medical advisory board of the Nick of Time Foundation where she helps provide community cardiac screening to identify youth at risk for sudden cardiac death.
