Assistant Professor of Neurology
University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Sleep Disorders Center

Dr. Yurcheshen’s specialty is sleep medicine, with particular interest in the intersections of sleep and neurologic disease. He is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY.  After earning a B.A. in history from Yale University in 1995, he obtained his M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.  He completed his residency training at the University of Rochester in the Department of Neurology, and fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at the University of Michigan.  Dr. Yurcheshen is the program director for the university’s sleep medicine fellowship, and he has received several teaching awards for his contributions to undergraduate and graduate medical education.  His research interests focus on parasomnias and on menopausal insomnia.  A member of the AOA honor medical society, Dr. Yurcheshen is a contributor to a number of local and national media outlets, and is a reviewer for the journals Neurology and Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.

He is board certified in neurology and sleep medicine, and is a fellow in the Amercian Academy of Sleep Medicine.
