Susan V. Bukata, M.D., is assistant professor of orthopaedics at the University of Rochester Medical Center, and director of the Medical Center's Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Disease Center.  A talented clinician and researcher, Dr. Bukata has worked with the some of the world's leading orthopaedic and osteoporosis researchers on the healing mechanisms of bone, and how drug therapies may be able to boost bone development while decreasing healing time. Dr. Bukata recently came to the Medical Center from the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hospital for Special Surgery, where she completed a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology and metabolic bone disease.  Prior to that, she was a resident at the University of Rochester, working in orthopaedics, orthopaedic research and general surgery. Dr. Bukata received her medical degree from Columbia University in 1995, and received her bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1991.
