Episodes in which Terry Congdon appears

Engineer
Rochester, New York

Terry Congdon is an engineer, married to his wife Marilyn for 30 years, and the father of two daughters.  A life long resident of upstate New York, Terry and Marilyn live in Fairport, a suburb of neatly kept homes east of Rochester, New York along the Erie Barge Canal.  In June 2007 the Congdon’s younger daughter, Hannah, was killed in a car accident along with her 4 close friends just 5 days after their graduation from Fairport High School.  In the hours, days, weeks and months following the accident, all of Fairport, the families of the victims, the school district, neighbors, and friends mourned together, supporting each other through a tragedy of tremendous proportion for the small tight knit community.

Five years have now passed since the accident and the experience of living through the grief and loss has shown that the goodness of human spirit and the strength of one’s family, friends, and faith can shape how people move through and emerge from the depth’s of a tragedy such as the loss of your 18 year old daughter.  In his participation as a Second Opinion panelist Terry shared his family’s perspective on coping with grief, and how the focus on the goodness in life and in those around him has helped his family continue to live a focused and happy life.
