Thomas L. Campbell, M.D. graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. Tom completed his family practice residency and fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where he is currently Professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry.  He has written extensively on the role of the family in medical practice and on the influence of the family on health.  His NIMH monograph, Family's Impact on Health, has been an influential review of the research in this area.  Other books, he has co-authored include: Families and Health with William Doherty, Ph.D. and Family-oriented Primary Care with Susan McDaniel, Ph.D. and David Seaburn, M.S.  He is a board certified family physician, a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a member of the board of the American Family Therapy Academy.  He co-edits, with Susan McDaniel, Families, Systems & Health: The Journal of Collaborative Family Healthcare.    In 2004, he was appointed William G. Rocktaschel Professor and Chair of Family Medicine and the Associate Director of the Center for Primary Care at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
